The International Thespian Society is an honorary organization for high-school and middle-school theatre students located at more than 3,600 affiliated secondary schools across the United States, Canada, and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student excellence in the theater arts; its motto is, "Act well thy part; there all the honor lies."

In our local Thespian troupe, our students are committed to excellence and show their dedication. Our local troupe motto is “Every day of your life is an audition for the next,” reminding us that each and every day, a thespian should lead by example and be representative members of our department.

Membership is gained by theatre participation, community involvement, and overall commitment. Our troupe’s thespian officers are elected every spring by the thespians at-large, selecting the students that would best lead the program.

“Thespianship” does not go unrewarded. Thespians have the opportunity to attend a Texas Thespian convention (http://www.texasthespians.org) held in Houston in December. At this convention, the theatre opportunities and activities for enrichment are endless. It truly pays to be an active member of our department!
